Delanae received new gloves and two "#1 Aunt" pins from her nephew Eric. It's been a standing joke for years since Delanae has been in the radio industry. While she was a D.J. the question she would always have to ask listeners who would call into the radio station was, "What's your favorite radio station?" and they would HAVE to reply the appropriate name of the station... it was kind of like getting a captive answer. Well, since then her favorite thing to ask her nephews (she doesn't have any nieces) was "Who's your favorite Aunt?" Eric would have NO OTHER CHOICE than to say "Aunt Delanae" partly because it's true, she is his favorite aunt...then again, she is his ONLY aunt!!! Now with Kyle and Adam, she has competition. It was obviously turning into an unfair question so she has long quit asking Kyle and Adam that question given their ages and inability to understand the jest. ANYWAY... So, when the present from Eric containing gloves with the two pins were unwrapped, it was a very funny thing. You basically would have to live with the constant obnoxious question to really appreciate it. = ) She is, by the way, still proudly wearing the pins and has considered it a MAJOR victory that she has proof that she has forced...I mean swooned herself into the loving position of #1 Aunt. <smirk!>

Here I am holding up the box with my new Palm IIIe that Santa brought me. Santa knew I had been salivating over Delanae's that was provided for her by the radio station where she is working. Now we can match. I still have to learn how to synch my addresses in Microsoft Outlook with the Palm however.

Here is Stacey with her haul of Beanie Babies. Since Ty has stopped manufacturing these little bears, what will she want next year? It has been easy for the last two Christmases, she just wants Beanie Babies. We are not planning on paying for her college with the Beanie Babies by the way.

Stephen with his main present, a Memory Man Deluxe. For those of you not into guitars, that is an effects pedal to make his guitar sound more cool according to him. Actually, he has been playing "Stairway to Heaven" this afternoon and it sounds like it did on the original album. This is an analog device, not a digital one so I don't mess with it.

Dogspresents.jpg (30600 bytes)

We did not forget the dogs. On the left is Bo with his chew toy doll and pig ear snack. That is Dexter on the right with his chew toy beside his face and his pig ear snack in his mouth. They also get turkey scraps, probably for a couple of days. Needless to say, they had a great Christmas.

Dashinpaper.jpg (29315 bytes)

This is our bright-eyed Siamese cat Dash with his favorite present, wrapping paper to play in. Our other cat, Bootsie, is too shy to have her picture taken. They both enjoyed all the wrapping paper and packing material.

Dinnertable.jpg (42288 bytes)

After we opened presents about 10 AM, since the kids no longer get up at the crack of dawn on Christmas morning, Delanae fixed a great Christmas dinner. This is what our holiday table looked like before being loaded down with food and hungry people. The arrangement in the foreground came from my brother and sister-in-law Richard and Kathy as did the candles. Ordering things on the Internet works, eh Kathy? The arrangement in the background is from my mother. Thanks Mom.

Here is a closeup shot of the dinner table as described above. I include this at the insistence of Delanae, the photographer. It is a neat picture.

Dadoncouch.jpg (38273 bytes)

What better way to close out a wonderful Christmas Day then by sitting on the couch watching football. Especially when one is too stuffed to move very far. Notice the empty dessert plate in the dominant hand and the ever ready remote in the firing position within easy reach. The only thing that would have made it better is if the Arkansas Razorbacks had been playing. I'll have to wait for New Year's Day for that, however.
